What's in this sound pack?
This library was created to provide you with the best step sounds for your game / video / movie-project, radio play or sound installation. I recorded all sounds in the studio with different prepared floor-settings to give you pristine audio quality and a background noise-free recording while still bringing through the aliveness and magnitude in detail and dynamics of walking in a real life-environment. You will find several floor types and environmental conditions – stone floor, wooden floor, gravel, sand, grass, snow, forest floor, mud and rain – in a variety of different textural qualities and impacts of body weight. All steps work as not gender-specific step sounds; adjusting the sound volume in your project can really make the difference in emphasizing specific qualities of the material. In this library you will find loops and single step sounds. After recording, I chose the best step sounds, sent them through SSL channel strips and paired those who fitted together well as loops. Each loop is made of four single step sounds. All in all you will find three grass loops, four gravel loops, one forest floor loop, two mud loops, five rain loops, four general hard surface loops, three wooden floor loops, two stone floor loops, two sand floor loops and seven snow loops. If the speed of the loop doesn't match to your preferred walking speed, you can easily create your own loop with the single sounds. To give you a better idea of how the steps might sound as running steps, I set every loop in the Soundcloud preview to normal speed and double speed. Every file is named and classified to help you to get a better overview.
